About Me

My name is Justin Nicholson and I’m an Art and Design lecturer at an FE college in the Midlands (UK). It’s a rewarding but demanding job, so I live for the weekends and those half term holidays. I am obsessed with walking, especially up hills and mountains and take my trusted XPRO-2 with a XF14mm, XF23mm f2 and XF60mm lens combo. Living centrally means I’m not too far from some wonderful locations and after a couple of hours I can be in North Wales or the Peak District, experiencing all that wonderful light and texture. I’m often out for 7 to 10 hours walking and in that time so much can happen, the immediate changes in weather, the rolling mist, the shafts of seemingly moving sunlight. I’m not one to drive to a point of beauty, I trek up to it, which often results in happy and content exhaustion, and I try not to over edit shots with an aim to keep them as close to how I experienced the landscape as possible.
